What to Expect!!!
Keep in mind that I can tailor the event to assist you in anyway.  Most assemblies consist of a Mini-Concert, and a Motivational message emphasizing some themes that you would like to have reinforced in your school, ie.  Character Building, Making Choices (say "No to Drugs")Reaching your Goals, The Power of a Dream, Importance of Discipline and Focus, etc.

The assemblies consist of Elementary, Junior High, High School & Colleges. (Optional to Colleges and High Schools only...I encourage that we get 2 or 3 students that are progressing in their instrument and join me on 1 or 2 songs.  I'm able to email MP 3's and Lead Sheets)    

What's The Cost!!! My endorsement with Conn-Selmer allows me to offer you this event with a minimal cost $300.00 to $600.00.  Please understand, if were able to book additional assemblies on the same day, the price will be reduced.

"If you are looking for an inexpensive, motivational assembly, you want to consider David Wells.  As you can see from his advertisement, he is a musician with an amazing story.   He presented an assembly at Bentworth high school and it was very well received by students and staff.  He arrived early and spent some time with our Jazz Band students and incorporated several students and our Band Director into his performance.  They were great!!!  If you enjoy Contemporary/Smooth Jazz music, you will love this performance.  Even if you don’t listen to this type of music, you will still enjoy the assembly.   The fact that he is originally from West Virginia doesn’t hurt either!!!

High Schools

David Wells and the Hook recently performed at Clay County High School for two student performances.  Students were immediately enthralled by his music and genuine concern for issues that teenagers deal with on a daily basis such as peer pressure and choices that impact their lives.  David’s musical talent is surpassed only by his desire to help young people seek out and pursue excellence!  As a high school principal, I have every intention of inviting David back.

Thanks for coming to our school and performing for our students. We don’t often get the opportunity to bring performers to our school. This was a great chance for our students to learn that someone from West Virginia can make it in music performance. Marshall County Schools recently had the pleasure of having David Wells as a guest performer. David made two presentations in our county -one for elementary students and one for the jr. high/high school band members. My students have not stopped talking about the experience! Not only did they get to enjoy a wonderful performance, but David also took the time to speak to the kids about the music business and the dedication it takes to succeed. To top the day off, David stayed after and "jammed" with our high school steel band. My kids were absolutely beside themselves. We recently had the great pleasure of welcoming David to Penn High School as a guest clinician. His mastery of the trumpet and flugelhorn are evident in both his recordings and live performance! David Wells performed for our Junior High and High School students on Friday, April 4. David did an outstanding job! We had over 600 students ages 12 – 18 in the gymnasium and they were captivated by his talents and his message. David’s performance included upbeat songs that the students could appreciate. His message was simple: desire, discipline and determination are the three keys to being successful at reaching your goals. The students and faculty were engaged and enjoyed the concert. David interacted with the students and was willing to sign autographs after his performance. We live in a rural area and this performance by a professional jazz musician was an excellent way for the students to experience the fine arts and be exposed to careers that are available to anyone. David is a class act performer! I would recommend that any school or organization invite David Wells to perform locally.

I had the distinct pleasure of hosting David Wells at my school. The day included three mini concerts (Elementary, Jr. High & High School) and was a terrific experience for all my students. The morning "session" included an audience of junior high students. The group was entertained and amazed by David's performance. He also took time out to talk about the "industry" and also answered questions from the students. David Wells is a gifted musician who relates personal experiences to any age student. "David Wells gave our building an amazing performance! Our 450 students sat on the floor mesmerized for 45 minutes. his music is outstanding, but his overall performance and stage presence might be better. He continually involved students and staff throughout the assembly. Students could be seen swaying, clapping, laughing and even nodding in agreement with his message. His presentation on "Desire, Dedication, and Discipline" was intertwined into his music in a way that got through to the students without the feeling of a speech. Creed Collins Elementary School is located in Pennsboro, West Virginia.  We are a rural school with few opportunities to expose our students to fine arts.  It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to have David Wells present an assembly to our students. David Wells came to our school for two assemblies. He did an elementary assembly in the morning and a grade 7-12 assembly in the afternoon. Each assembly had over 500 students watching. He did an excellent job! He easily adjusted and adapted his presentation to appeal to the two different age groups. The students especially enjoyed how he interacts with them; getting them involved in the presentation and performance. He was also excellent to work with when we were planning the assemblies.
